Sapientαι (a.k.a. Sapient AI) is an ML/AI startup located in the heart of Austin, TX primed for rapid growth. We are looking for a strongly self-motivated and ambitious candidate with a solid background in computational engineering/mathematics/physics and/or software development to join our dynamic team.At Sapientai, we delve into high-tech, innovation-driven technologies encompassing nuclear fusion and brain/human computer interfaces (BCI/HCI), all while preserving the adaptive and agile essence of a fast-paced startup. Here’s an opportunity to contribute significantly to our projects, driving both the company and societal advancement forward.
Essential Qualifications:
- A strong foundation in data science, database management, machine learning, AI.
- Broad fluency in SQL, MongoDB, PyMongo, Compass, Python e.g., Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Interest/passion in nuclear fusion, clean energy, EnvironTech, CleanTech, etc.
- Software development interest, with full-stack experience being a plus.
- Understanding of advanced mathematical/computational concepts and techniques.

What You Will Do:
- Develop, populate, expand, and maintain custom large non-relational/relational databases.
- Spearhead the development of infrastructure to deploy services (DevOps).
- Collaborate with current customers to operationalize products (MLOps).
- Strategize and prepare for rapid growth, ensuring scalability and efficiency of our data architecture.
Preferred Competencies:
- Proven experience in data science and advanced data visualization.
- Interest and/or competency in physics, preferably plasma physics or fusion.
- Understanding of advanced mathematical/computational concepts and techniques.
- A penchant for curiosity and self-exploration.
